Therapeutic Massage for health and wellness

Swedish Massage

The movements used in Swedish massage are similar to the way the body circulates blood. Because of this, Swedish massage can promote healthy circulation, increase blood flow, and help the body remove metabolic waste more quickly and effectively. Better circulation not only helps you feel better, but improves overall health since increased circulation and blood flow means other organs can work more effectively. Swedish massage aids in whole body relaxation, blood flow and stress reduction. This kind of massage is best suited if you want a full body massage.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a form of massage therapy that is used to realign the deeper layers of the muscles and connective tissues—addressing and resolving the underlying problems that can lead to chronic pain and stiffness. It differs from regular massage treatments; in that it addresses deeper, more rooted issues in the muscles and ligaments, and allows treatments to be more vigorous, successful and long-lasting. Adhesions, tension and stiffness can be related to a range of chronic conditions. Some of the benefits or receiving deeper work is the physical effects such as reduction in adhesions, knotts, stiffness, impingements, lack of mobility, chronic pain and scar tissue.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine.Shiatsu means “finger pressure”, or acupressure. It was designed to help regulate the flow of energy within the body. Shiatsu is done on a soft matt, using stretches, side lying positions, pillows and traditional chinese medicine to create a holistic massage. It allows the nervous system to relax. Some benefits of shiatsu are decreasing chronic inflammation, reducing migraines, and increasing circulation.

Acupressure/Tuina

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed , they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and Qi (life force energy) to aid healing. Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points and are based on the system of traditional chinese medicine.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is the use of vibration (sound) to promote relaxation, balance, rejuvenation and peace. Stress reduction is one of the most important results of receiving sound therapy. Stress is the underlying cause of many physical conditions and it melts away with ease when you are bathed in a sea of sound healing vibrations. Sound influences our emotional bodies and physical bodies, therefore, healing our emotional bodies can influence physical symptoms that we experience. Sound can be used to unlock blocked emotions and release them with ease. In a sound bath you are fully welcomed in a safe space to be in your experience. Sound bowls, chimes, voice and other magical instruments are used. You can request for a sound bath as an addition to massage or as a complete experience for yourself or for a group as well.
